Win one of my artworks

Hello all I hope everyone is having a good day. Guess what I have a new competition for you all. One lucky person will win one of my art work. Is it you? I have some hints to give you an even better chance to win. First hint is to donate any amount to www.tonyopee.com and it could be any amount $1 and above. The more you donate the more chances you have of winning.

Happy playing. Have fun with this and at the same time support an artist.

Have a nice day.

Halloween Party

Yes my first Halloween party in San Jose what can I say it was really really awesome. I now feel that the group is getting closer and closer and I have added some new friends in my arsenal of friends. Doing fun activities such as having parties and going to different location is what art is all about. Art is fun no mater how tedious it may be.

We are all in this together and we all have something in common and that is to become good artists and to get those big jobs oh and I think there were a couple of illustrators in the mix as well. I now cant wait to see whats in store for us because every semester it just keeps getting more and more interesting. So please stay tuned for more Tony Opee's adventures in SJSU.

Our art program being visited by Jeffrey Katzenberg

Guess what people Jeffrey Katzenberg is coming to our school tomorrow to visit our program. I feel so special as if he is coming to just see me. In actualities he is. San Jose State University has been getting raving reviews from the industry for having some really good and impressive portfolios and I am really glad and honored to be a part of that. I am also volunteering for this event because I want to be a part of it as much as possible.

Art has now become a part of me everything I do now is related to art including just hanging out with my friends. Doing fun activities like going to locations to draw is always fun. The picture above is me with my friends drawing at Santana Row in San Jose. Am the one with the African clothing thanks mom.

Foot binding Assignment

This assignment is hard. Not just the drawing its really hard to turn my foot so that I draw the bottom of my foot. As you can see from the picture on the left thats is as far as I can see the bottom of my foot.

This is the most difficult assignment I have ever done next to this one job I had in the summer time. The foot binding thing feels like some kind of ritual from some tribe in Africa lol. I am learning about my patience and love for drawing by doing this really difficult assignment.

You know am glad am almost done with this assignment I just hope our next assignment is not drawing the back of our heads or something. Its been fun, but I hope I wont have to draw the bottom of my feet anytime soon and I get cold feet easily when am without socks. Actually I cant sleep without socks thats my little secret. Talk to y'all later about my exciting animation adventure.

Sheldon's Homework

I like the assignments that I am given in this program because one can actually see why its given. In Sheldon's class we learn new things about the figures and how to show emotions in your drawings.

The Art feeling

What makes the animation program bearable is having good friends. We decided to meet up after class to draw. School can be really demanding, but the trick is to make it as fun as possible.

I met these cool people in my art 28 class last semester the coolest class ever. Everyone was motivated and approached art with great enthusiasm.

Energy is key to success and in my case artistic energy. I really strongly feel that artist have to approach art with artistic energy, but if you think too much nothing will happen. I love it because art is a gut thing that is why I love art so much. You just go without worrying about your destination, but whats important is not to forget where you are going.

Cop stops art student

Yesterday I needed to go to university art to buy some art materials for my class. I noticed that I was being followed by a cop. He flashed his lights and I guess that was my clue that I needed to stop.

The animation program is not joke this is serious stuff. This is not the first time am being stopped for no good reason. I guess the third time is a charm. I guess its a good thing it happened because it gives me something to write in my blog.

Homework is piling up so I guess I need to get to work. My art 50 class it really ramping up as my teacher likes to say. Tomorrow I have no class so I guess I will concentrate on catching up and finishing the assignment that am behind on.

Animation/Illustration BFA Program

I graduated from Pinole Valley High. My high school is the place where I first got the love for computer animation. A presentation was shown at my school and from that day I decided that Animation was for me. Attended American River College and got my Associates of Arts degree. After graduating ARC, I started looking for good animation school. At first I was looking for a place where I can get scholarships, but I had not luck.

Talking to my art professors they recommended me to check out San Jose State University Animation program. I did my research and I found out that SJSU's animation program was one of the top in the nation. I was so excited I had to go check out the school. I went to San Jose for a tour and I was hooked.

I decided to transfer to San Jose State University as a junior. I moved from Sacrameto away from parents and my two sisters. I miss them a lot. My first semester in SJSU I took an art 1 art 28 and art 55. I really enjoyed my first semester and made so many good friends.

Why am I blogging?

I am now unveiling my new blog site. I have just set up my new page with everything I need to get started. Today is the first step for a long journey with my friends my audience and I. I will be blogging about my experience in San Jose State University Animation/Illustration program. My blog contents will contain my day to day sketches and pictures of new people and places I visit around the bay area.

The main reason why am blogging is to share my main passion of art to people who are interested in Animation, my friends and family. Due to the work load that is required in Animation Illustration major working at a job would take so much time away from my art work and homework. All my professors know what it takes and that is dedication, effort and time. I would like to motivate students who are interested in majoring in Animation and also encourage the students who have started with the program. I am open to suggestions and tips from the people who have made it.

One other good reason I am blogging about my school life is to get extra money from the advertisement and donation to help fund my schooling and thank you in advance for your donations.
